Deadline Approaching for Federal Disaster Assistance in Kentucky Counties

Residents in several Kentucky counties affected by severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, landslides, and mudslides have less than one week left to apply for federal disaster assistance. Homeowners and renters in Butler, Caldwell, Calloway, Christian, Clay, Greenup, Hopkins, Knox, Logan, Muhlenberg, Simpson, Todd, Trigg, Warren, and Whitley counties have until September 23 to submit their applications.

To apply for FEMA Individual Assistance, residents can visit a FEMA Disaster Recovery Center, call FEMA at 800-621-3362, apply online at DisasterAssistance.gov, or download and use the FEMA app. In-person assistance is also available at the Muhlenberg County Training Center in Central City, KY.

Additionally, homeowners, renters, businesses, and nonprofit organizations can apply for long-term, low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration to cover losses not fully compensated by insurance and other sources.

For the latest information on Kentucky’s recovery efforts and how to apply for FEMA disaster assistance, residents can visit fema.gov/disaster/4804. Follow FEMA on social media for updates and resources.

Time is running out for those in need of assistance, so residents are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to access the help they need to recover from the recent natural disasters.
