Cruise Appoints Laura Herbert as Senior Director of Brand Communications

Cruise, General Motors’ driverless car subsidiary, is making waves in the industry with the recent hiring of Laura Herbert as senior director of brand communications. This newly created role showcases Cruise’s commitment to building consumer familiarity, trust, and affinity with its mission of improving safety for all road users.

Herbert, who previously held leadership roles at Nike, brings a wealth of experience to Cruise. Her appointment comes on the heels of other key hires at the company, including Beth Ladd as senior director of internal communications and Jessica Rich as senior manager of engineering communications.

These hires reflect Cruise’s dedication to investing in top communications and marketing talent as it continues to grow and expand its operations. The company operates supervised autonomous driving in several cities and aims to resume fully autonomous rides this year, with plans to charge fares by early 2025.

In addition to its internal changes, Cruise has also formed partnerships with companies like Uber Technologies to offer driverless rides to users. With a focus on innovation and safety, Cruise is poised to make a significant impact in the autonomous vehicle industry.
