Downtown State College Improvement District Announces Small Business Grant Winners
The Downtown State College Improvement District (DSCID) has recently announced the winners of their new Small Business Grant Program, aimed at helping local businesses enhance their storefronts and interiors. The program, which awarded up to $5,000 to 24 deserving businesses, is part of an ongoing effort to revitalize the downtown district and create a more vibrant atmosphere.
Among the recipients of the grants are businesses like 3 Dots Downtown, Appalachian Outdoors, and The State Theatre, who will be using the funds for projects ranging from outdoor patio renovations to interior lighting upgrades. The grants are intended to not only improve the visual appeal of these establishments but also contribute to the overall functionality and accessibility of the downtown area.
Lee Anne Jeffries, the executive director of the DSCID, expressed excitement about the transformative renovations that the grant winners will be undertaking. She emphasized the importance of collaboration between the DSCID and local businesses, as recipients are required to match the grant amount, showing a shared investment in the district’s future.
The Small Business Grant Program highlights the commitment of both the DSCID and local businesses to driving positive change and prosperity in the downtown State College area. With these grants, the DSCID hopes to continue fostering a sense of community and inclusivity, while also supporting the growth and success of small businesses in the district.
