National Women’s Soccer League Appoints Jennifer Levine as VP of PR and Communications

The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) has made some key hires to drive its growth and build on its increasing popularity. Jennifer Levine has been appointed as the VP of PR and communications, bringing with her a wealth of experience from companies such as Hidden Pigeon Company, Amazon Studios, and Netflix. Levine’s role will focus on increasing fan growth and brand awareness for the league.

In addition to Levine, Michelle Haines has been named VP of marketing and Derek Throneburg as VP of club business. These hires come as the NWSL continues to see record-breaking attendance and viewership numbers, with a 26% increase in attendance during the 2023 regular season.

Commissioner Jessica Berman expressed excitement about the new hires, stating that they will help fuel the next phase of growth for the league. The NWSL recently secured a four-year media rights agreement with partners such as CBS Sports, ESPN, Amazon Prime Video, and Scripps Sports, further solidifying its position in the sports media landscape.

The NWSL boasts clubs such as Angel City FC, Chicago Red Stars, and the reigning champions NJ/NY Gotham. With the addition of Levine, Haines, and Throneburg, the league is poised for even greater success in the coming years.
