“Federal Contracting 101 Training Series for Small Businesses in CNMI and Rota”
The CNMI Small Business Development Center Network is teaming up with the Guam APEX Accelerator to offer a unique training opportunity for local businesses in Saipan and Rota. The two-day training series aims to help businesses become procurement-ready for federally-funded opportunities.
The training, titled “Federal Contracting 101,” will be led by Boris Hertslet, Program Manager of the Guam APEX Accelerator. The first session will take place on May 22, 2024, at the Northern Marianas College campus in As Terlaje, Saipan. The following day, the same training will be offered at the Northern Marianas College Rota Center.
Nadine C. Deleon Guerrero, network director of the CNMI SBDC Network, encourages all local businesses to attend this no-cost training opportunity. She emphasizes the importance of understanding federal contracting processes, especially with the increasing number of Department of Defense projects in the region.
The training will cover topics such as registering in the System for Award Management (SAM.gov), getting certified with the Federal Government 8(a) Program, finding federal opportunities, and more. Attendees will also learn about cybersecurity for federal contractors and how to create effective marketing capability statements.
To register for the training or for more information, interested individuals can contact Adelpha K. Magofna at (670) 237-6888 or via email. Space is limited, so early registration is recommended.
