Florida Senators Marco Rubio and Rick Scott Push Back Against Biden Administration’s Climate Change Regulations on Defense Contractors

Florida Sens. Marco Rubio and Rick Scott, along with other Republicans, are taking a stand against the Biden administration’s attempt to impose radical left-wing climate-change reporting regulations on defense contractors. In a letter to top officials, the senators criticized the so-called Contractor Climate Rule, which would require contractors to disclose greenhouse gas emissions and set emissions reduction targets. They argued that the rule would increase federal costs and violate federal law, ultimately harming national security and space exploration efforts. The lawmakers are pushing back against what they see as an attempt to advance a radical agenda through procurement policy, and are determined to protect the defense and space industrial bases from unnecessary regulatory burdens.
