FSU Undergraduates Set to Break into Top 10 in Graduation Rates
In a surprising turn of events, Florida State University (FSU) is anticipated to break into the top 10 rankings among all public universities nationally for its exceptional graduation and retention rates. While FSU football may have lost its top 10 spot, the university itself is on track to achieve a remarkable milestone.
Record numbers of FSU undergraduates are earning their degrees in four years or less, with the university boasting a four-year graduation rate of 76%, up from 75% the previous year. Additionally, FSU has maintained an impressive retention rate of 96%, matching last year’s record.
According to FSU’s Office of Institutional Research, these outstanding numbers are projected to secure FSU a top 10 spot in both graduation and retention rates among public universities nationwide.
President Richard McCullough expressed his pride in the university’s achievements, attributing the success to the hard work and dedication of students, faculty, and staff. He emphasized FSU’s commitment to providing an exceptional educational experience that supports student success from the beginning.
Notably, FSU’s six-year graduation rate has also seen an increase to 86%, up from the previous year’s record of 85%. The university’s three-year graduation rate for transfer students has seen a significant rise to 78.3%, surpassing all other State University System institutions. Additionally, FSU’s six-year graduation rate for Pell Grant recipients stands at an impressive 83%.
President McCullough credited these achievements to FSU’s investments in academic advising and supportive programs designed to equip students with the necessary tools for graduation. He highlighted the university’s dedication to ensuring that every student has the resources needed to succeed.
