Prisa Prism Awards 2024 Celebrate Excellence in PR and Communications
The Prisa Prism Awards 2024 celebrated excellence in public relations and communications in Southern Africa over the weekend. The theme of this year’s Awards and Summit was “Ink”, symbolizing the power of storytelling in the PR industry.
Paul Reynell, chief judge of the Prism Awards, praised the campaigns for their creativity and strategic impact, highlighting how storytelling can drive change and connection in the market. Bradly Howland, CEO of Alkemi and president-elect of Prisa, emphasized the importance of storytelling in shaping brand narratives and public perception.
A total of 148 awards were presented at the event, marking a significant milestone for Prisa as the institute unveiled a rebrand. The new brand reflects Prisa’s commitment to innovation and leadership in the evolving PR landscape.
Oscar Tshifure, president of Prisa, expressed excitement for the organization’s future, stating that the rebrand signifies a new chapter focused on elevating and advocating for the PR profession in Southern Africa and beyond.
In addition to the Awards, Prisa hosted its first annual Prism Summit, addressing key challenges and opportunities in the communications sector. Topics included value-based leadership, AI integration, responsible communication, and ethical dilemmas like greenwashing and climate change.
The event also recognized outstanding campaigns and professionals in various categories, showcasing the industry’s diverse talent and innovative approaches to PR.
