New £6,000 Grants Available for Wiltshire Businesses to Boost Energy Efficiency
Wiltshire businesses have the opportunity to boost their energy efficiency and save money with grants worth up to £6,000 as part of a new initiative by Wiltshire Council.
Small firms in 22 towns across the county, focusing on the retail, hospitality, and leisure sectors, can apply for the scheme, which includes free energy health checks and expert advice.
The goal of the program is to help Wiltshire become carbon neutral by 2030, with Council leader Richard Clewer emphasizing the importance of supporting small businesses in their sustainability journey.
To qualify for the grants, businesses must employ fewer than 50 people, have a turnover of less than £10.2m, and have no more than £5.1m on the balance sheet. Eligible improvements include more efficient heating systems, insulation, lighting upgrades, and renewable energy installation.
Severn Wye Energy Agency will conduct the energy-efficiency surveys, providing businesses with a detailed report and recommendations for carbon-saving measures.
Business energy services manager Lisa Whitaker highlighted the importance of expert support for smaller businesses looking to improve their sustainability practices, stating that their team will work with business owners to find the right solutions.
With energy costs still fluctuating, this grant scheme offers a valuable opportunity for Wiltshire businesses to reduce their overheads and contribute to a more sustainable future.
